But Amanda is more than a presenter, unlike her peers she has raced competitively in historic, GT and Le Mans prototypes on the world’s most famous race tracks, and is still the only British female racing driver to have won an International long distance GT race. She is also a leading automotive journalist and is regularly to be found on the TV breakfast show sofas, providing insightful comment and opinion on all aspects of the automotive industry.

Josie has 20 years’ experience in the FMCG, pharmaceuticals and medical devices industry where as a board director of Beiersdorf UK she was responsible for maximising revenue and profitability. Her expertise and passion lie in the area of people and organisational development. With a philosophy that an organisation can only reach its full potential through developing and motivating its people.

Josie currently leads a national executive coaching and mentoring group for CEO’s and managing directors called Artemis and Apollo for both women and men who aspire to be the best business leaders in their field. She has coached and facilitated executive, director and middle management teams to manage the introduction of major new cultural change programmes as well as the implementation of Values into realistic behaviours that organisations rigorously adopt into every aspect of business life.

The Artemis & Apollo Group were very fortunate to hear Prof. David Whetham explore with us some of the principal reasons that ethical failure occurs.  He also shared with us the practical steps that military leaders take to prevent them from happening.

We also reviewed how the seven leadership behaviours listed below prove a useful framework for leaders from any organisation to consider to create the right environment and appropriate ethical climate for themselves and their people.

Prior to her appointment in 2018, Ruth was General Secretary of TISPOL, the European Roads Policing Network. She is skilled in crisis management, coaching, assessment, government, emergency management and law enforcement. In her TISPOL role she worked with all European governments, senior police officers and road safety experts to deliver a co-ordinated approach to road safety across Europe.

Ruth’s career as a police officer spanned 33 years and took her to the rank of Assistant Chief Constable. Her experience in policing contributed to her skill in managing critical incidents and major investigations. An experienced Interviewer and examination assessor at executive level, she has a proven track record of working in the staffing and recruiting industry.

Working for the College of Policing, Ruth was the lead facilitator in developing the Strategic Command Course – Operational Delivery Module and assessment process between 2015 – 2019.

She holds a first-class honours degree in management from the University of Manchester.

Ruth was awarded an OBE in the New Year Honours list 2021, for services to Policing and Road Safety

Ruth spent the morning with the group sharing with us memorable moments in the chapters of her career to date, and educating us in what Roads Policing does in this country.

It was a thought provoking session about what you can achieve in your life if you put your mind to it.

On Friday 14^th April Bruck Payne Associates and Cambridge Constabulary launched the first accredited ILM Leadership & Culture Programme for Chief Inspectors and Police Staff equivalent and above.  This is a dynamic initiative to provide the middle managers of the constabulary with the leadership and management tools to deliver against the force culture statement, ensuring standards are upheld and to ensure a positive and sustainable future for generations to come.

We are so excited to be a part of this dynamic initiative and to be working with Jane Gyford, Deputy Chief Constable and Becky Tipping, Chief Superintendent in the evolution of this unique programme.  As the chief facilitator on the programme it is both refreshing and stretching to work with such a progressive police service.
